Leaving the monkeys and Vila Tunari

The road has been long. But so far, traveling has been what everybody sais: "Traveling alone - you´re never alone"

Here are some pictures from the last weeks with a few descriptions.

Vila Tunari ---> Cochabamba:

Together with Michelle from New Zealand, a very nice girl I met in Vila Tunari, we couchsurfed in Cochabamba at Gabriela´s place. Gabriela is from Bolivia and lives together with her whole family - mother, grandmother, aunts and oncles. They are all such warm people and made us feel very welcome.

 One of the days we were there, the university in the city had a big parade in the city. Music, dance and crazy costumes everywhere!

I didn´t know before I got here that Cochabamba actually has the tallest Jesus statue in the world - "Cristo de la Concordia" - beating "Christ the Redeemer" in Rio de Janeiro with a few centimeters. All though it´s not as detailed as the one in Brasil, it made a nice mark on the hill by city.

Preparing a huge cake for Gabrielas grandmothers 75th birthday! We got to be a part of the preparations and the bolivian fiesta!

Cochabamba ---> La Paz:

La Paz ---> Rurrenabaque:

To give you a hint of how small Rurrenabaque is, here is a picture of the airplane that took us there.

 After a 40 minutes flight, we arrived in Rurrenabaque airport (see picture, although it looked more like a farm-area).

Many travelers go to Rurrenabaque to do one of the jungle-tours in Amazonas. Here a the great group of nine, doing the "Pampas-tour".

Endless long rivers going into "nowhere" in the Amazonas

Quite relaxing yes..

Piraña-fishing, using raw chicken as bait

The embaressing part was that the guide was the only one who caught a piraña. The rest of us caught a sardin, a catfich and a crab.
